Kindergarten Guide - Jerome's Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten - it's a great little puzzle/logic/interactive story game, costs only £3.99 and will keep you entertained and scratching your head for hours. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

Before school starts:
  • Withdraw $3.00 from your piggy bank - you will need to buy three items from Monty, at $1.00 each.
Playground:
  • Talk to Monty and purchase the yo-yo ($1.00), the pack of cigarettes ($1.00) and the screwdriver ($1.00).
Morning time:
  • Talk to Jerome and offer him the yo-yo. He will think you're cool and ask for your help retrieving his laser pointer - agree and when he distracts Ms. Applegate, leave the classroom. Do not interact with any other student or the cubbies, or you'll fail your assignment.
  • Show the hall monitor the pass and enter the janitor's closet. Use your screwdriver on the left side of the shelf, which will cause it to collapse and the box of "stolen stuff" will become accessible. Take Jerome's laser pointer and return to the classroom.
Lunch:
  • Speak to Jerome and show him the laser pointer. He is pleased, until he hears the sound of the angry Janitor coming towards the cafeteria!
  • Hide the laser pointer in the garbage can - do not attempt to walk past the table where Buggs is sitting or interact with anybody or anything else, or else the Janitor will come in and find you with the laser pointer in your possession.
  • The Janitor will take the garbage back into the bathroom - you must now retrieve it. You can either pay off the Lunch Lady ($2.00), give her Monty's glasses after the Janitor impales him, or take the easiest option, allow Jerome to pay her off for you. Whichever method you choose, leave the cafeteria and enter the bathroom.
  • The hall monitor is smoking in the bathroom and will take you to the principal unless you bribe him. Give him the pack of cigarettes we bought from Monty earlier. The hall pass doesn't work this time.
  • Interact with the garbage bag and retrieve the laser pointer (again.)
Recess:
  • Talk to Monty and tell him you retrieved the laser pointer. He will take it from you and instruct you to get rid of the Janitor, who is still harassing Jerome. He will give you a rigged explosive listening device.
  • Place the device behind the Janitor when you are given the exclamation mark prompt and return to Monty to detonate it.
Show & Tell:
  • Show the screwdriver as your show & tell item - do not show the stolen hall pass, as you will be sent to the Principal's office.
Jerome's storyline complete!
