I am Mog Anarchy, and I like to play games. Whether they are old, new, retro, modern, online, offline, console, computer, critically acclaimed or notoriously bad. Here on my blog, I rant about, review, trash talk, praise and generally talk about all of my favourite and least-favourite games. I also write my own guides on how to accomplish tricky tasks, show off my creative endeavors and challenge myself with crazy in-game tasks. I also have a bunch of gaming merchandise which I am glad to show off. So drop me a comment, I love hearing your questions, criticisms, comments and general gaming discussions. :)

Kindergarten 2 Guide - "Cain's Not Able" Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten 2, the sequel I was desperate for ever since I played the original! Like the original, it's an indie puzzle/logic/interactive story game available on Steam. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Click on the screenshots to enlarge them!)

-------------------------------------------------------------
(This story has two methods of completion - a route where you side with Felix and a route where you side with Ted. I'll outline them both.)

(You will need the PRESTIGIOUS PIN and the A+ REPORT CARD to complete this storyline.)

School Yard (BOTH ROUTES)

- Talk to Felix, show him the pin badge to prove your status. He'll give you a letter for Ozzy.

- Talk to Monty and buy some hand sanitiser for $2.00.

- Now talk to Ozzy, use the hand sanitiser to keep him happy and he'll confess that he can't read.

- Take Ozzy to talk to Monty, who can read. Monty wants $6.00. As you only have $3.00 currently, tell him you can get the money.

- Talk to Felix and ask to borrow money.

- Give the money to Monty and he'll decode the note.

- Use your A+ REPORT CARD to go to the smart class.

(Now continue reading if you want to follow Felix's route, or scroll down to see Ted's route. Both reward you with different collectables but the same key item, so it's worth finishing both routes.)
-------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Time (FELIX'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and he will explain his plan to kill Ted.

- Take the assessment on the computer and take the toilet roll as your prize.

- As if you may leave the classroom and enter the girls' bathroom.

- Clog one of the toilets and tell Bob about it. He'll move away from his ladder and you can use it to access the vent.

- Pick up the jar of spiders - the bell will then ring.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Lunch (FELIX'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and show him the jar of spiders.

- Escort Felix to Nugget and Nugget will tell you he needs a new arm and a shovel.

- Talk to Carla to get the key to the janitors' closet.

- Take the shovel. The bell will ring and Bob will usher you outside.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Recess (FELIX'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and show him the shovel. He will then tell you that you need a passbook.

- Go up the alleyway to the dumpster, bang on the dumpster and trade Agnes the dumpster hag your burger for a passbook.

- Talk to Felix again, then follow Monty inside.

- Monty is onto you, but shoots Stevie instead. Pick up Stevie's dismembered arm.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Gym Class (FELIX'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix, who will take you over to Ted. Ted leaves to go stand in the playground.

- Talk to Nugget, give him the arm and the shovel.

(Collectable!)
We can deviate from the story here to get a Monstermon card. Help Jerome snatch the ball from Carla and he will give you the [DAB HERO] Monstermon card. Then restart the day from gym to continue the storyline.

- Help Carla snatch the ball from Jerome, hitting Ms. Applegate in the face, causing her to chase Jerome outside.

- Talk to Felix, then go to the downstairs classroom. Take the stick from Jerome's body. You will also unlock the [ATHLETIC TANK TOP] outfit if you haven't already. There is also a [PURPLE PLUSH] Monstermon card in the toy box.
- Go through the cafeteria into the playground.

- Give Felix the stick, then dump the spiders into the hole onto Ted. You will unlock the [UNCONFIDENT RED SHIRT] outfit.

For completing Felix's route, you will unlock the key item [FELIX'S STRANGE CHEMICAL] and the [TREASURE CHEST] Monstermon card. Now restart the day from Morning Time if you wish to also complete Ted's route. (You must pause the game just after getting the Monstermon card if you want to do this.)
-------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Time (TED'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and he will explain his plan to kill Ted.

- Take the assessment on the computer and take the spray bottle as your prize.

- Ask if you may leave the bathroom and go downstairs to the other classroom.

- Tell Ted what's going on. He'll get angry and seek revenge. He'll send you to get a jar of spiders, so go into the boys' bathroom, spray the spiders with the spray bottle and fill your jar.

- Go back to the science class and eat an apple to skip ahead.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Lunch (TED'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and show him the jar of spiders. This time Ted will have some very amusing and sarcastic responses.

- Escort Felix to Nugget and Nugget will tell you he needs a new arm and a shovel.

- Talk to Carla to get the key to the janitors' closet.

- Take the shovel. The bell will ring and Bob will usher you outside.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Recess (TED'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix and show him the shovel. He will then tell you that you need a passbook.

- Go up the alleyway to the dumpster, bang on the dumpster and trade Agnes the dumpster hag your burger for a passbook.

- Talk to Felix again, then follow Monty inside.

- Monty is onto you, but shoots Stevie instead. Pick up Stevie's dismembered arm.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Gym (TED'S ROUTE)

- Talk to Felix, who will take you over to Ted. Ted leaves to go stand in the playground, but stops to talk to Buggs on his way out this time..

- Talk to Nugget, give him the arm and the shovel.

- Give Felix the stick - this time Ted will defend himself as Buggs runs in to throw Felix into the hole instead. Dump the spiders into the hole onto Felix. You will unlock the [PRESSED BLUE SHIRT] outfit.
For completing Ted's route, you will unlock the key item [FELIX'S STRANGE CHEMICAL] and the [KNIGHT WHO TURNED EVIL] Monstermon card. Now restart the day from Morning Time if you wish to also complete Felix's route. (You must pause the game just after getting the Monstermon card if you want to do this.)

Fallout 4 Settlement Tour - Red Rocket Truck Stop

So I've set myself a challenge - build a thriving community at every available settlement within the base game and the six added with the game's DLC. I must keep my settlers as happy as possible and provide all of the amenities people would need to live comfortably (i.e. toilets, recreation, communal areas) - and many of the settlements will follow a specific theme. All of my settlers will also be armed and dressed painstakingly by hand...

For a full list of settlements and also to see which mods I've used, click here.

RED ROCKET TRUCK STOP

Aerial view of the settlement

For this settlement, I built around the existing gas station building itself whilst making use of the indoor space and the flat rooftop. To access the roof, I built this staircase, using pieces from the 'warehouse' section, structure pieces added by the Contraptions Workshop DLC. I can use it and so can the settlers who need to access the roof.

On the roof is the main power generator, a metal shack that can house 6 settlers. I manually assigned them to their beds so all of the shopkeepers live on the rooftop. This is also where I mounted all of the settlement's turrets. Being raised up so high, they have excellent range and *never* take damage from any attackers.

Being a former gas station, I decided to go with a scrapyard sort of aesthetic. I turned an abandoned school bus, trailer and two train box cars into the other settler housing, providing each one with either a sleeping bag or a mattress and either a footlocker or a duffel bag to keep their possessions in. I also used conduits to wire up the structures and lit them up inside.

In the central area, between two of the "houses," I also built a bathroom area, which includes several sinks, toilets and urinals for my settlers to use when needing to relieve themselves or wash up. To the left of the trailer home is an area for travelling merchants and their Brahmin.

In addition to the roof-mounted turrets, the settlement also has 3 guards stationed on raised guard towers and the 5 "pets" I chose for the settlers are tamed Mole Rats. As well as being pets, they also provide some defence. Nearby is an underground Mole Rat den, so I like to imagine the settlers were able to tame them. Obviously this was actually achieved via the use of a beta wave emitter.

There is a total of 4 powered water pumps, providing 40 water to the settlement. I built two main areas for the planting of crops, which are Mutfruit, Tatos, corn, carrots and via the use of the Homemaker mod, silt beans. In the top corner, there is a pen that houses 3 Brahmin. On the side of the main gas station building is a gym/recreation area with fitness equipment and around the back are all of the crafting benches.

For the shops, I built a long roofed structure with an open front. Each shop has its own stock shelves behind the shopkeeper and any other relevant items (i.e. first aid kits for the doctor.) This whole area is lit up beautifully at night and the settlers gather around the bar when they've finished working. To compliment this, I also built a seating area in front of the bar where they can hang out together.

Inside the gas station itself is another communal area and kitchen. The small office area has been changed into a room where the barber and facial surgeon work out of, along with 2 beds for the guards. My favourite area however is the large open garage - which I turned into another communal area with seating booths, vending machines, a jukebox and lots of wall decoration. This is also where the settlement's two cats hang out.

Here's some more screenshots - simply click to enlarge them.

And here's a guided video tour I made:

Review: Hatfall

Hatfall is the 2015 official “hat-putting-on” simulator created by Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, the fast-talking Anglo-Australian behind the Zero Punctuation gaming review webseries. Developed by Yahtzee himself and Addicting Games, it started out as a free-to-play flash game on the Escapist website but was later released as the Hatters Gonna Hat edition on Steam, Android and iOS devices.

You as the player take control of Yahtzee’s little cartoon character against the typical bright yellow backdrop - and must use either a controller, the arrow keys or a mouse to move him left and right in order to collect the falling trilby hats from above. This is complicated by having several (sometimes often identical) other characters on-screen at the same time, leading to you having to work out exactly who you are controlling before positioning yourself. Also, the trilbys aren’t the only thing raining down from above - often there will be telegraph poles, street signs, televisions, fridges and cars that will impale or crush you respectively and put an end to your current streak.

The gameplay is heavily arcade-inspired and relies on the typical high-score system. Each “level,” if you like only takes several seconds to complete, and the successful catching of each hat will cause the gameplay speed to increase, more obstacles to fall and more NPCs to appear on-screen. The standard arcade-style gameplay is often broken up however by a number of unique mini-games - all of which involve poking fun at a specific gaming trope or genre of video games and naturally is doused in Yahtzee’s own abrasive and often dark humour.

Speaking of Yahtzee’s humour - the loading screens, menus, options and even pause screens all include regular nods to his work, including his typical British profanity, catchphrases and references. The NPCs also are a throwback to many of his reviews, characters such as the imp, “your mum,” and the leather-clad gimp will often show up to distract you from collecting more hats. The more hats you collect, the more of these NPCs you can unlock using the shop menu. You will also earn regular “presents,” several of which are just cosmetic or simply for novelty use, such as changing all of the loading screens to streams of constant profanity and censored text, or giving the screen a most distracting rose-tinted hue - but the vast majority of them are used to unlock the mini-game segments.

Unlocking “survival mode,” throws you into a weird tycoon-style management game in which you must make decisions as the new boss of a woodland company to increase the company’s stock of acorns. Collecting both “pictures of a horse” unlocks a mode that pokes fun at turn-based RPGs, in which Yahtzee finds himself stuck at a boring engagement party and every time he encounters an annoying person at the buffet table, must “fight them off” in the style of a random encounter battle. “Wonderful Headgear Romance” is a mockery of Japanese visual-novel style dating simulators, in which you play an unseen protagonist and attempt to seduce Hat-chan, by taking her on dates to the fairground, dog walking or you may choose to violate her immediately…

Another recurring character is “the wizard,” who will become “angered” whenever you catch a wizards’ hat on your head instead of a trilby. This causes one of a number of different effects, including covering the floor in slippery “blood rain,” which massibley reduces traction, covers the screen with a downpour of imps or flips the screen upside-down and reverses your controls. Upon calming down, the wizard will grant you one of his “boons,” which you can redeem at the end of every run - taking the form of drawing a random tarot card. These boons can grant extra lives, double your score, add more hats to your collected total or simply insult you and offer nothing as a booby prize.

To anybody who hasn’t watched a Zero Punctuation review, Hatfall will seem like a semi incoherent game with aspects seemingly thrown in at random - but to long time viewers or fans of Yahtzee Croshaw, Hatfall is both amusing and addictive. It’s the epitome of a casual or pick-up-and-play game that is common to Steam and mobile devices, but is differentiated significantly by the liberal sprinkling of humour. Personally, I could only play it for 20-40 minutes at a time before I’d get frustrated due to missing a hat or picking the wrong wizard boon - but it’s a fun little time-sink and comes with appropriately amusing and insulting achievements. It costs £3.99 on the Steam store, perhaps slightly more than the average casual game on there, especially during sales - but if you’re a long-time fan of Zero Punctuation, I highly recommend it.

Kindergarten 2 Guide - "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten 2, the sequel I was desperate for ever since I played the original! Like the original, it's an indie puzzle/logic/interactive story game available on Steam. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Click on the screenshots to enlarge them!)

-------------------------------------------------------------
(Before school starts you'll need to pick up BOB'S TOOLBELT & the PRESTIGIOUS PIN BADGE)

School Yard

- Talk to Monty and buy a lighter for $1.50.

- Talk to Nugget, who is trapped behind the sewer grate.

- Talk to Bob, give him his toolbelt and he will rescue Nugget.

- Talk to Nugget again and ask to be his friend. He will want a flower to prove your friendship.

-  Talk to Bob and get access to the wheelchair ramp.

- Pick the blue flower and give it to Nugget.

- Return to the screen on the left. Talk to Nugget again and he will mention needing a lighter. Talk to Carla and pay her $1.00 to smuggle the lighter in for you.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Time

- Go to the regular class and talk to Nugget. He will ask if you managed to smuggle in the lighter, say yes.

- Nugget will distract Ms. Applegate so the two of you can go to the bathroom together to see the Janitor.

(Collectable!)
While Ms. Applegate is gone, you're free to steal items from the other kids' cubbies. There is a [HERMIT FROG] Monstermon card in the 3rd cubby from the left.
- Enter the boys' bathroom and talk to the Janitor. He needs his key. Go upstairs, and you'll be stopped by the hall monitor. Luckily, you have a lighter smuggled in to bribe him with!

- Enter the girls' bathroom and get the key from Bob. Go back to the boys' bathroom downstairs, give it to the Janitor and he will give you the shovel for Nugget.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Lunch

- After the scene with Nugget and the lunch lady Margaret, talk to Nugget and he explains his plan, which involves buying all of the cafeteria's burgers.

- Talk to Margaret and buy a burger for $1.00.

- Then talk to Felix, show him your PRESTIGIOUS PIN and convince him to also buy a burger.

- Once Margaret leaves to make more burgers, go behind the counter and take the box of nuggets.

(Collectable!)
While you're behind the counter, check the corner close to the serving hatch. An exclamation mark will appear. This is the [MYSTICAL TOMATO] Monstermon card.
- Talk to Nugget, who will be saddened by the temperature of the nuggets and start banging his head on the wall. Keep talking to him until he stops.

- Go through the green door into the teachers' lounge and use the microwave to heat up the nuggets.

(Collectable!)
You can deviate from the story here to unlock an outfit and then restart the day from Lunch to continue the story if you wish. Instead of giving the heated nuggets to Nugget, skip ahead and let him keep banging his head. At recess, go up the alleyway and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her a burger for a passbook. Go back into the cafeteria. Nugget is dying and asks to be buried in the nuggets. Do so, and you'll unlock the [FRIENDSHIP SHIRT] outfit.
- Return to Nugget and give him the microwaved nuggets.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Recess

(Collectable!)
Another story deviation here to unlock a Monstermon card. Go up the alleyway and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her the box of nuggets for her cat Tenders. Go into the teachers' lounge and buy a can of soda so Ms. Applegate will leave Nugget alone. Give Tenders to Nugget. You will get the [PALE TUNA] Monstermon card.
- Ms. Applegate and Nugget are having a dispute, it seems. Turn around and go back through the cafeteria to the teachers' lounge. Buy a soda from the vending machine. Give it to Ms. Applegate and she'll calm down.

- Talk to Nugget, he will dig the Nugget cave, fill it with the nuggets and you can enter.

- Once inside, Nugget will ask you to dispose of the severed leg. Pick it up.

(Collectable!)
Another story deviation here! Once you've picked up the severed leg, examine the skeleton on the left. It has a wallet, take the money, you'll need it to pay your lab fee. Go to science class and examine the other severed leg on the far wall. Dr Danner will thank you for returning the other leg with the [ULTRALODON] Monstermon card.
- Once you've picked up the leg, Nugget will ask you to come to gym class with him. Skip ahead and do so.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Gym Class

- Nugget asks to play dodgeball and it ends up being a 5 VS 2 match, with you on the weaker side.

- Use the leg to deflect the ball back at Carla.

- Nugget will take out Felix and Ted. Move up, then back to take out Jerome.

- Move down behind Nugget, you will catch the ball and win the game.
Upon completing the storyline you will unlock the key item [MONSTERMON PLUSHIE] and the [DUNE WORM] Monstermon card.

Kindergarten 2 Guide - "Opposites Attract" Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten 2, the sequel I was desperate for ever since I played the original! Like the original, it's an indie puzzle/logic/interactive story game available on Steam. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Click on the screenshots to enlarge them!)

-------------------------------------------------------------

(Before school starts you'll need to pick up BOB'S TOOLBELT & your A+ REPORT CARD)

School Yard

- Talk to the principal and get a pass to talk to her at lunch.

- Talk to Carla and tell her that "It can't be that hard to smuggle things in." Take the firecracker from her.

- Talk to Penny and get the firecracker confiscated.

- Talk to Buggs and tell him Penny also took something from you. Show him your A+ report card.

- Talk to Penny again and say you can be friends. Get the friendship bracelet from her.

- Go to the "smart" class when the bell rings.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Time

- Talk to Penny, ask her "Where is the stuff you take from kids?"

- Take the assessment on the computer and accept the toilet paper as your prize. (Either prize will work, but the toilet paper allows you to grab a Monstermon card later!)

- Ask if you *may* leave the classroom and go downstairs to the boys' bathroom.

- Use your toilet roll to clog one of the toilets.

- Enter the other classroom and ask Cindy if you can have her doll. You're roped into playing house with her.

- Here, you can spray her in the eyes with the cleaning solution, if you chose that prize, show her the PRESTIGIOUS PIN BADGE as an AA 30 days clean pin - or, threaten to take your "daughter" back. She'll call the Janitor to act as a cop, but he'll be busy unclogging the toilet from earlier - and he'll find a Monstermon card!

- Go to the boys' bathroom on your way back and talk to the Janitor to get the [OGLEBOP OGRE] card.

- Go back to the science lab and give the doll to Penny.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Lunch

- Talk to Buggs and show him the computer disk. He'll agree to create a distraction for you.

- Go to the door and go to visit the Principal. The lunch lady Margaret will enter shortly after and drag the Principal away to deal with a food fight.

- While you're alone, put the disk in the computer, print the document and take it. Then unlock the door on the far left of the room.

- Return to the cafeteria and talk to Buggs. Show him the document and get the walkie-talkie.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Recess

- Talk to Monty, who will have decoded the document for you.

- Buggs will call afterwards. Open the gate, walk down the alleway and enter the Principal's office through the back door.

- Go to the girls' bathroom, use BOB'S TOOLBELT to unscrew the vent and sneak into the science lab.

- Go to the lesson plan in the top-right corner and change it to MAGNETS.

- Go back to the playground and skip ahead. Pay the lab fee and go to science class.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Science Lab

- Once the lesson on magnets begins, it seems that there's a missing gear stopping the lesson from progressing. Penny talks to you and confesses it was her who took it.

(Collectable!)
We can deviate from the story here in order to earn some collectables - then restart the science lab section. Instead of going out into the hallway when Buggs calls you, skip ahead by eating your apples. Penny will go outside and kill Buggs and Carla. Go out there yourself and examine them for the [XL HAND-ME-DOWN] and the [SLY GREEN SKIRT] outfits.
- Go out into the hallway, telling Dr Danner you're going to look for the missing gear. Talk to Buggs and Carla about picking the locker lock and distracting Penny.

- Go back into the science lab, find Penny's doll hidden under the bottom-right desk and give it to her.

- Go back into the hallway and get the gear from Carla. Return to the science lab and give it to Dr Danner. You will unlock the [ROBO DRESS] outfit too!
For completing this storyline you will unlock the key item [PENNY'S LASER BEAM] and the [KILLER EYE] Monstermon card.
-------------------------------------------------------------
