Kindergarten 2 Guide - "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten 2, the sequel I was desperate for ever since I played the original! Like the original, it's an indie puzzle/logic/interactive story game available on Steam. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Before school starts you'll need to pick up BOB'S TOOLBELT & the PRESTIGIOUS PIN BADGE)

School Yard

- Talk to Monty and buy a lighter for $1.50.

- Talk to Nugget, who is trapped behind the sewer grate.

- Talk to Bob, give him his toolbelt and he will rescue Nugget.

- Talk to Nugget again and ask to be his friend. He will want a flower to prove your friendship.

-  Talk to Bob and get access to the wheelchair ramp.

- Pick the blue flower and give it to Nugget.

- Return to the screen on the left. Talk to Nugget again and he will mention needing a lighter. Talk to Carla and pay her $1.00 to smuggle the lighter in for you.

Morning Time

- Go to the regular class and talk to Nugget. He will ask if you managed to smuggle in the lighter, say yes.

- Nugget will distract Ms. Applegate so the two of you can go to the bathroom together to see the Janitor.

While Ms. Applegate is gone, you're free to steal items from the other kids' cubbies. There is a [HERMIT FROG] Monstermon card in the 3rd cubby from the left.
- Enter the boys' bathroom and talk to the Janitor. He needs his key. Go upstairs, and you'll be stopped by the hall monitor. Luckily, you have a lighter smuggled in to bribe him with!

- Enter the girls' bathroom and get the key from Bob. Go back to the boys' bathroom downstairs, give it to the Janitor and he will give you the shovel for Nugget.

Lunch

- After the scene with Nugget and the lunch lady Margaret, talk to Nugget and he explains his plan, which involves buying all of the cafeteria's burgers.

- Talk to Margaret and buy a burger for $1.00.

- Then talk to Felix, show him your PRESTIGIOUS PIN and convince him to also buy a burger.

- Once Margaret leaves to make more burgers, go behind the counter and take the box of nuggets.

While you're behind the counter, check the corner close to the serving hatch. An exclamation mark will appear. This is the [MYSTICAL TOMATO] Monstermon card.
- Talk to Nugget, who will be saddened by the temperature of the nuggets and start banging his head on the wall. Keep talking to him until he stops.

- Go through the green door into the teachers' lounge and use the microwave to heat up the nuggets.

You can deviate from the story here to unlock an outfit and then restart the day from Lunch to continue the story if you wish. Instead of giving the heated nuggets to Nugget, skip ahead and let him keep banging his head. At recess, go up the alleyway and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her a burger for a passbook. Go back into the cafeteria. Nugget is dying and asks to be buried in the nuggets. Do so, and you'll unlock the [FRIENDSHIP SHIRT] outfit.
- Return to Nugget and give him the microwaved nuggets.

Recess

(Collectable!)
Another story deviation here to unlock a Monstermon card. Go up the alleyway and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her the box of nuggets for her cat Tenders. Go into the teachers' lounge and buy a can of soda so Ms. Applegate will leave Nugget alone. Give Tenders to Nugget. You will get the [PALE TUNA] Monstermon card.
- Ms. Applegate and Nugget are having a dispute, it seems. Turn around and go back through the cafeteria to the teachers' lounge. Buy a soda from the vending machine. Give it to Ms. Applegate and she'll calm down.

- Talk to Nugget, he will dig the Nugget cave, fill it with the nuggets and you can enter.

- Once inside, Nugget will ask you to dispose of the severed leg. Pick it up.

Another story deviation here! Once you've picked up the severed leg, examine the skeleton on the left. It has a wallet, take the money, you'll need it to pay your lab fee. Go to science class and examine the other severed leg on the far wall. Dr Danner will thank you for returning the other leg with the [ULTRALODON] Monstermon card.
- Once you've picked up the leg, Nugget will ask you to come to gym class with him. Skip ahead and do so.

Gym Class

- Nugget asks to play dodgeball and it ends up being a 5 VS 2 match, with you on the weaker side.

- Use the leg to deflect the ball back at Carla.

- Nugget will take out Felix and Ted. Move up, then back to take out Jerome.

- Move down behind Nugget, you will catch the ball and win the game.
Upon completing the storyline you will unlock the key item [MONSTERMON PLUSHIE] and the [DUNE WORM] Monstermon card.

Kindergarten 2 Guide - "Opposites Attract" Storyline

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Before school starts you'll need to pick up BOB'S TOOLBELT & your A+ REPORT CARD)

School Yard

- Talk to the principal and get a pass to talk to her at lunch.

- Talk to Carla and tell her that "It can't be that hard to smuggle things in." Take the firecracker from her.

- Talk to Penny and get the firecracker confiscated.

- Talk to Buggs and tell him Penny also took something from you. Show him your A+ report card.

- Talk to Penny again and say you can be friends. Get the friendship bracelet from her.

- Go to the "smart" class when the bell rings.

Morning Time

- Talk to Penny, ask her "Where is the stuff you take from kids?"

- Take the assessment on the computer and accept the toilet paper as your prize. (Either prize will work, but the toilet paper allows you to grab a Monstermon card later!)

- Ask if you *may* leave the classroom and go downstairs to the boys' bathroom.

- Use your toilet roll to clog one of the toilets.

- Enter the other classroom and ask Cindy if you can have her doll. You're roped into playing house with her.

- Here, you can spray her in the eyes with the cleaning solution, if you chose that prize, show her the PRESTIGIOUS PIN BADGE as an AA 30 days clean pin - or, threaten to take your "daughter" back. She'll call the Janitor to act as a cop, but he'll be busy unclogging the toilet from earlier - and he'll find a Monstermon card!

- Go to the boys' bathroom on your way back and talk to the Janitor to get the [OGLEBOP OGRE] card.

- Go back to the science lab and give the doll to Penny.

Lunch

- Talk to Buggs and show him the computer disk. He'll agree to create a distraction for you.

- Go to the door and go to visit the Principal. The lunch lady Margaret will enter shortly after and drag the Principal away to deal with a food fight.

- While you're alone, put the disk in the computer, print the document and take it. Then unlock the door on the far left of the room.

- Return to the cafeteria and talk to Buggs. Show him the document and get the walkie-talkie.

Recess

- Talk to Monty, who will have decoded the document for you.

- Buggs will call afterwards. Open the gate, walk down the alleway and enter the Principal's office through the back door.

- Go to the girls' bathroom, use BOB'S TOOLBELT to unscrew the vent and sneak into the science lab.

- Go to the lesson plan in the top-right corner and change it to MAGNETS.

- Go back to the playground and skip ahead. Pay the lab fee and go to science class.

Science Lab

- Once the lesson on magnets begins, it seems that there's a missing gear stopping the lesson from progressing. Penny talks to you and confesses it was her who took it.

We can deviate from the story here in order to earn some collectables - then restart the science lab section. Instead of going out into the hallway when Buggs calls you, skip ahead by eating your apples. Penny will go outside and kill Buggs and Carla. Go out there yourself and examine them for the [XL HAND-ME-DOWN] and the [SLY GREEN SKIRT] outfits.
- Go out into the hallway, telling Dr Danner you're going to look for the missing gear. Talk to Buggs and Carla about picking the locker lock and distracting Penny.

- Go back into the science lab, find Penny's doll hidden under the bottom-right desk and give it to her.

- Go back into the hallway and get the gear from Carla. Return to the science lab and give it to Dr Danner. You will unlock the [ROBO DRESS] outfit too!
For completing this storyline you will unlock the key item [PENNY'S LASER BEAM] and the [KILLER EYE] Monstermon card.

Kindergarten 2 Guide - "The Hitman's Potty Guard" Storyline

School Yard

- Approach the twins, Felix and Ted. Talk to Felix (blue shirt) first, then Ted (red shirt) and ask him about Felix's plan. Agree to talk to him during class.

- Talk to Monty and buy a battery for $2.00.

- Talk to Cindy, tell her that "Ted wants your help with something," and she'll revert to her old ways and ask him to stick gum in somebody's hair.

- Ted will stick the gum in Carla's hair - talk to her afterwards and she'll give you a coupon for the vending machine you can use to buy her some scissors.

Morning Time

- Talk to Ted and agree to listen to his scheme.

- Give Ozzy the battery for his toy robot.

- Talk to Ted then escort him over to Cindy. The two will stage a distraction in the form of an argument. Ms. Applegate thus is distracted.

- Use your remaining two apples to steal Ozzy's inhaler from the centre cubby and the bag from the right cubby.

Lunch

- Talk to Ted, who will give you a fork and explain the next part of the plan.

- Buy a hamburger, then get the lunch lady to sign your passbook so you can leave.

- Give the hall monitor the bag of conspicuous green stuff so he'll let you go upstairs.

- Enter the boys' bathroom and lock yourself in the stall on the left. Ozzy will come in and start getting stressed out.

- Leave the bathroom, go upstairs and use the coupon in the vending machine and buy the scissors for Carla.

Recess

- Talk to Ted, who will instruct you to find a green flower.

- Go up the alleyway to the dumpster area and pick the green flower that is growing there.

- Talk to Monty and sell the inhaler to him for $2.00 so you can afford your lab fee.

- Talk to Ted, show him the green flower then escort him to Carla. Give her the scissors you got earlier.

- While Ted is distracting Monty, unscrew his wheelchair...

- Pay the lab fee and go to science class.

You can deviate from the story here to grab some Monstermon cards then restart the day from recess. Instead of going to science, go to gym instead. Help Carla snatch the ball from Jerome and Ms. Applegate will chase him out. Go through the cafeteria to the playground and talk to Monty, who will give you the [CELESTIAL SLUG] Monstermon card.

Science Lab

Before we continue with the story, there are TWO Monstermon cards available here! First, take an empty microscope slide from the desk. Interact with the large plant and take a sample. Look at it under the microscope and Dr Danner will give you the [CHILL STUMP] Monstermon card.

Unfortunately we can't get both of these at the same time, so restart the science lab section - don't worry, you'll keep the other card in your collection - only this time take a sample from the fish tank and look at it under the microscope. Dr Danner will give you the [TINY SQUID] Monstermon card.

- Talk to Cindy, who will admire the green flower you have and want it. Offer it to her if she creates a distraction.

- Go over to the far right and examine the socket socket, hmm, a fork would fit in there...

- Go back to Cindy, give her the fork and tell her to stick it in the socket.

- While the lights are still out, sneak out of the classroom, go to Ozzy's locker and steal his inhaler. Then return to the classroom.

- Interact with Cindy's charred corpse and you'll unlock the [SPOILED PINK DRESS] outfit. You're also able to take the green flower back at this point.
- Trigger Ozzy's asthma with the green flower. Without his inhaler, he'll die. You'll also unlock the [GERMAPHOBE'S STRIPES] outfit!

Completing this storyline will unlock the key item [PRESTIGIOUS PIN] and Ted will also give you the [STRESSED LLAMA] Monstermon card.

Kindergarten 2 Guide - Monstermon Cards

There are a total of 50 Monstermon Cards to collect throughout Kindergarten 2. These are stored in your shelf in your bedroom at home and thus carry on between each play-through. It is required to collect all 50 to unlock the special ending, achievement and final costume. Unlike the original Kindergarten, collecting a card usually doesn't cost an apple and you can restart the day from any point or even quit once you've picked up a card and you'll still get to keep it in your collection. They are also used in a Pokémon parody style battling game against other kids at recess.

So here's how to get them all. (I've ordered them going from top left as #1 to bottom-right as #50 and split them into the 5 different colours.)

#1 - CELESTIAL SLUG
During "The Hitman's Potty Guard" storyline, go to gym instead of science. Help Carla snatch the ball from Jerome then return to Monty, who is laid helpless in the playground and talk to him. He'll give you this card.
#2 - HARD BOOGAR
Pay Monty $3.00 to use the wheelchair ramp. Walk to the corner of the school wall and interact when the red exclamation mark appears. You'll find the card.
#3 - BUCKET O WATER
This card is inside the locked janitor's closet inside a yellow garbage bin. (Easy to obtain during the "A Tale of Two Janitors" storyline)
#4 - PALE TUNA
Follow the storyline of "If You Can Dodge a Nugget." Once it gets to recess, go up the alleyway and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her the box of nuggets for her cat Tenders. Go into the teachers' lounge and buy a can of soda so Ms. Applegate will leave Nugget alone. Give Tenders to Nugget. You will get the card.
#5 - ULTRALODON
During the "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" storyline, pick up the severed leg from the Nugget cave and go to science instead of gym. Interact with the other leg on the far wall and Dr. Danner will give you this card.
#6 - CARNIVOROUS NIMBUS
Buy a can of soda from the vending machine during recess. Use a passbook to ask Ms. Applegate if you can use the bathroom. Ignore Stevie and go straight to the teachers' lounge. During gym class, give the soda to Buggs to get this card.
#7 - TINY SQUID
Pay the lab fee after recess to go to the science lab. (It must be the plants lesson) Take an empty microscope slide then take a sample from the fish tank and look at it under the microscope. Dr Danner will give you this card. (Cannot be obtained at the same time as CHILL STUMP, but the area can be restarted to obtain both.)
#8 - CORAL THAT LOOKS LIKE HAND
Beat Carla in a Monstermon card battle. She's on the far left of the playground by the trampoline during recess.
#9 - HERMIT FROG
In the 3rd cubby from the left in the downstairs classroom. Easy to grab during the "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" storyline while Ms. Applegate is out of the room.
#10 - CASTLE OF SAND
Climb the rock wall during recess. the grey grips are unstable, so stick to the green and yellow ones. The card is at the top.
#11 - MAN ON FIRE
Complete the "Breaking Sad" storyline.

#12 - CHAIR OF SPIKES
Whilst inside the girls' bathroom, inspect the purple sofa. You will find this card between the cushions. (Easy to obtain during the "A Tale of Two Janitors" & "Flowers for Diana" storylines)
#13 - CIGARETMON
During the "Creature Feature" storyline, give the two hall monitors in the boys' bathroom your lighter.
#14 - DUNE WORM
Complete the "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" storyline.
#15 - STRESSED LLAMA
Complete "The Hitman's Potty Guard" storyline.
#16 - CYCLOPS DUCKLING
Talk to Jerome by the swings at recess. He'll give you a riddle to solve. The correct answer is: YELLOW, BLUE, BLUE, RED, BLUE, RED. Solve it and the Monstermon card will appear.
#17 - TEENAGE MUTANT ZOMBIE
Beat Nugget in a Monstermon card battle. Nugget is in the sandbox in the playground during recess.
#18 - LONELY DRAGON
Buy a burger during lunch - make sure you have a passbook, either given to you for free from Stevie or bought from the vending machine. Skip ahead to recess. Go up the alleyway, bang on the dumpster and talk to Agnes the dumpster hag. Trade her the burger for her cat Smoky. Use your passbook to go inside, go to the boys' bathroom and give Smoky to the hall monitor to get this card.

#19 - MILLION-HEAD HYDRA
Beat Ozzy in a Monstermon card battle. Ozzy is standing by the tree in the playground during recess.
#20 - DAB HERO
During gym class, help Jerome snatch the ball away from Carla.
#21 - MONSTROUS FLYTRAP
Complete the "Flowers For Diana" storyline.
#22 - THE TALLEST TREE
During the "Flowers For Diana" storyline, you'll be tasked with hiding some contraband in a tree then shaking a beehive onto Penny. Once she's ran away, inspect the fallen beehive to find the card.
#23 - CHILL STUMP
Pay the lab fee after recess to go to the science lab. (It must be the plants lesson) Take an empty microscope slide then take a sample from the large plant and look at it under the microscope. Dr Danner will give you this card. (Cannot be obtained at the same time as TINY SQUID, but the area can be restarted to obtain both.)
#24 - GNOME OF GARDEN
Before school starts, pay Monty $3.00 to use the wheelchair ramp. Pick the blue flower. Go to class, skip ahead. Get your passbook. Skip ahead to recess. Use your passbook to go to the bathroom during recess. Ignore Stevie and enter the teachers' lounge. Take the yellow flower out of the vase and replace it with the blue one. The card will appear.
#25 - OFAKA TORNADO
Complete the "Things That Go Boom" storyline.
#26 - LITERALLY GRASS
During the "Flowers For Diana" storyline, you'll be tasked with hiding some contraband in a tree then shaking a beehive onto Penny. You must then sell the "contraband" to Monty to be able to afford your lab fee. Haggle with him by telling him you feel it's worth more than $5.00 and you'll also get this card.
#27 - DOODOO BUG
Take the A+ Report Card from your bedroom. Start the school day by talking to Felix, then talk to Ted, as if you were following "The Hitman's Potty Guard" storyline. Talk to Cindy, get the gum and have Ted put it in Carla's hair. Get the vending machine coupon from Carla. Use your report card to go to science class. Take the assessment and accept the toilet paper as your prize. Ask if you MAY leave, then go to the vending machine and use the coupon to buy a passbook. Skip ahead to lunch. Buy a burger then use your passbook, go to the boys bathroom and skip ahead until Ozzy comes in to use the toilet. Talk to him through the stall door and give him your roll of toilet paper to *finally* get this card!

#28 - MYSTICAL TOMATO
Either while Margaret is making a vegan meal during "Flowers For Diana" storyline or making more burgers during the "If You Can Dodge a Nugget" storyline, you can find this card in the corner of the storeroom behind the lunch counter where the box of nuggets is.
#29 - HISSING FAUNA
Beat Monty in a Monstermon card battle. He's in the centre of the playground during recess.
#30 - LEGENDARY SWORD
Pay Monty $3.00 to use the wheelchair ramp. Walk over to the trees and read the sign. Remember this order: 
UP, LEFT, UP, RIGHT, UP, RIGHT, LEFT, UP. Enter the woods and follow this path. At the end, you will find this card.
#31 - GOLDEN DEWDROP
Beat Jerome in a Monstermon card battle. Jerome is standing by the swings in the playground during recess.
#32 - ZEN OCTOPUS
During morning time, go to the toy box and take the fidget spinner before Nugget comes in. When he comes in, give it to him.
#33 - FORBIDDEN BOOK
Talk to the Principal before school starts to get a principal pass. During lunch, use it to go to her office. Ask her if you can look around. Interact with the red book on the bookshelf to find this card
#34 - MARSHMALLOW
Beat Cindy in a Monstermon card battle. She's on the far left of the playground by the trampoline during recess.
#35 - POT OF GREASE
Follow "Flowers For Diana"'s storyline - once you've obtained the vegan salad for Cindy, DON'T give it to Felix. Skip ahead to Recess, go down the alley and give it to Agnes the dumpster hag in exchange for her cat Gravy. Give the cat to Cindy to obtain the Monstermon card.
#36 - LAMB WITH CLEAVER
Complete the "A Tale of Two Janitors" storyline.
#37 - TREASURE CHEST
Complete the "Cain's Not Able" storyline by siding with Felix.
#38 - MR. NICE GUY
Follow "A Tale of Two Janitors" storyline. Before going into the science lab to speak to Monty, enter the girls' bathroom and talk to Bob. Tell him that you can't read or write. He will go and speak to the Janitor and think the matter is sorted, rewarding you with this card. This doesn't affect the story whatsoever and you can continue on.
#39 - THE SLURPER
During the "Creature Feature" storyline - find it in the bottom-left corner of the Principal's secret lab.
#40 - RARE JEWEL
Beat Felix in a Monstermon card battle. He's standing by the rock climbing wall during recess.
#41 - ONION
During lunch, Ozzy will leave to use the bathroom, leaving his bag lunch unattended. Interact with it to get the Monstermon card. (Easy to obtain during the "Flowers For Diana" storyline)
#42 - KILLER EYE
Complete the "Opposites Attract" storyline.
#43 - PURPLE PLUSH
After Ms. Applegate has chased Jerome out of gym class for hitting her with a ball during the "Cain's Not Able" storyline, go into the downstairs classroom and look in the toy box.
#44 - SPIKY FLIM FLAM
Beat Buggs in a Monstermon card battle. Buggs is in study hall, so either get sent there yourself or sneak in during recess to see him.
#45 - MONSTER GHOST
Start the day with the A+ REPORT CARD and PENNY'S LASER. Skip ahead to morning time and go to the smart class. Talk to Monty and give him the laser. He will reward you with this card.
#46 - KNIGHT WHO TURNED EVIL
Complete the "Cain's Not Able" storyline by siding with Ted.
#47 - EVIL THWARTER
Beat Agnes the dumpster hag in a Monstermon card battle. Bang on the side of her dumpster and ask to battle her during recess.
#48 - MYSTERIOUS PACKAGE
Examine the box that Billy was hiding in in the sewer tunnel. (Easily done during the "Things That Go Boom" storyline.
#49 - OGLEBOP OGRE
During the "Opposites Attract" storyline, you'll have to play house with Cindy to get Penny's doll back. Before you go into the classroom, go to the boys' bathroom and clog one of the toilets with your roll of toilet paper "prize" from earlier. When Cindy calls the Janitor to play a cop and kill you, he will say he's busy unclogging a toilet and that he's found a Monstermon card. Go back into the boys' bathroom and talk to him to get it.

#50 - DANK MAGICIAN
Complete the "Creature Feature" storyline.
