Unboxing: Arcade Block July 2016

It's time for my ninth monthly Arcade Block!

As I've previously explained; for a fee of $20 CANADIAN per month, Arcade Block will send you a lovely box of gaming merchandise, including a T-shirt. Shipping costs vary, depending on where you live, and larger T-shirt sizes cost a few $ extra - overall, my boxes including shipping, work out at about £24.

This one was shipped on the 25th of July and arrived on the 11th of August.

1980s Nintendo Stickers, Scratchcards & 34 YEAR OLD BUBBLEGUM

While trawling eBay for some new stuff for my UNBOXING videos - I stumbled upon a few packs of these Nintendo scratchcard and sticker packs from 1989 and 1982, respectively.

Both packs come with stickers and scratchcards, and the 1982 Donkey Kong pack came with a stick of 34 YEAR OLD BUBBLEGUM. All three packs are older than I am. :)

Judging by the copyright information and the ingredients of the bubblegum (*cough* corn syrup *cough*), these packs are clearly from the US - possibly sold in the UK at some point, as there was quite a few listings in ££££s. You could also get a pack with Link from The Legend of Zelda on the front, but that one was about 5 times more expensive than the Mario and Peach packs. I believe the 1982 packs were only available in the Donkey Kong variety, rather than the general Nintendo/NES variety.

The packs I opened contained stickers and scratchcards from Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Punch-Out!!, Double Dragon Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2.

The bubblegum seemed to have started to disintegrate somewhat, does anybody know what the hell these brown speckles are?

For any fans of the British unboxer Ashens, he once ate a piece of 25-year-old bubblegum. I ate the whole stick of 34-year-old bubblegum. :)

Zora Link ROCKS OUT!

Recently re-playing The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask, I was messing about with Zora Link and his awesome guitar. I'm probably not the only person to discover this, but you can have minutes of mindless fun by simply whizzing the C-stick round in a circle and bashing the A button - to which Zora Link will rattle off what sounds like an awesome guitar solo. :)

Bear in mind, I did this on the Legend Of Zelda: Collector's Edition on the GameCube that I have and everybody wants coz it's going for like £50 on Amazon.co.uk. Tee hee, I got it during the blissful days of Club Nintendo where my brother and I shared an account and pooled our stars together to buy cool shit - and through us hording games we both managed to grab a copy of this game, costing only 2000 stars.

For those who don't remember, Nintendo games in the GameCube/Game Boy Advance era came with fold-out scratchcard inserts with codes on them that could be redeemed online for STARS. These stars could be then exchanged for cool shit. Most games came with 200/250 stars and peripherals like the Game Boy Player came with 400. And YES I KNOW, Club Nintendo still exists - but now they charge like 1500 stars for a FUCKING KEYCHAIN. We paid 2000 stars for a WHOLE FUCKING GAME. As always, Nintendo isn't as good as it used to be.

Anyway - I did it on the GameCube version - so I had a C-stick to spin around. This would be quite hard to do on the original N64 controller. :)

That is the JACKSON ZORAXE, made by Jackson Guitars. Only SEVEN of them have been made. An exact replica of Mikau's fish-bone guitar from The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Even though I can't play the guitar (I play the keyboard actually), I would die for one of these. :D
