I am Mog Anarchy, and I like to play games. Whether they are old, new, retro, modern, online, offline, console, computer, critically acclaimed or notoriously bad. Here on my blog, I rant about, review, trash talk, praise and generally talk about all of my favourite and least-favourite games. I also write my own guides on how to accomplish tricky tasks, show off my creative endeavors and challenge myself with crazy in-game tasks. I also have a bunch of gaming merchandise which I am glad to show off. So drop me a comment, I love hearing your questions, criticisms, comments and general gaming discussions. :)

Anarchy Advent 2017 - Awesome Competition Details!

It's September again, and you lot know what that means...

If you were here last year, you'll no doubt be aware of Anarchy Advent and all of its Mog-related goodness, but if you're new here; feel free to acquaint yourself with it.

Done? Good.

Like last year, I'm running the creative competition where you lot can win prizes! The prizes will be games or credit to purchase games on a digital download service of your choice. Last year, the winners all opted for Steam games, but prizes can be arranged for Xbox Live, Playstation Network, Nintendo e-Shop, Amazon, Origin, iTunes etc.

Said prizes are...

  • 1st place - a game or games from your chosen wishlist/format gifted up to the value of £15
  • 2nd place - a game or games from your chosen wishlist/format gifted up to the value of £10
  • 3rd place - a game or games from  your chosen wishlist/format gifted up to the value of £5

So... what is this competition? What do you lot, my lovely greasy Anarchy Burgers have to do to be in with a chance of winning?

Simple! September 24th is my birthday - and I'd like you to make me a present. However, this is not specifically a "fan art" competition - don't feel restricted by what you can and can't do or make - this is a CREATIVITY competition. Last year's entrants included fan art, comics, tribute videos, music remixes, a bracelet, a Mario Maker course, a text adventure game and even a cake!

So essentially, any form of creativity goes! Art, music, writing, video, animation, sculpture, embroidery - whatever you're interested in!

The only rule is it has to be something to do with me - either feature my likeness, my logo, one of my tropes (i.e. gunge or unboxing videos) or one of my characters Cat Chaos or Charm Agony. And for those of you who choose to make me something physical, a photograph is enough for a competition entry, but if you want to mail it to me - that would be awesome. :)

Competition runs from September 1st to September 22nd. The winner shall be announced on September 23rd - and I shall showcase all of the entries in a special video.

Terms & Conditions

  • Entries must be submitted to me via DM on Twitter - please don't @ them to me, I'd like to keep them a secret from other entrants!
  • Prizes are to be awarded in vouchers or download code only, no physical cash prize.
  • Once you've submitted your entry, I can do with it what I wish, post it on my blog, Twitter, use it in videos or other content etc.
  • If you need anything from me in order to complete your entry - like sheet music to my opening, the colour of my eyes, my shoe size, Jet's inside leg measurement - whatever - just let me know and I shall provide you with whatever you need.

Good luck you lot!

And if you're looking for inspiration, why not check out the showcase of last year's entrants and winners?

Kindergarten Guide - Ms. Applegate's Storyline

This is a little guide for the Steam title Kindergarten - it's a great little puzzle/logic/interactive story game, costs only £3.99 and will keep you entertained and scratching your head for hours. Many of the puzzles and characters' storylines require strict timing and succession of events - and I recommend you try your hardest to figure out the puzzles on your own before consulting my guide below.

With that being said, if you're pulling your hair out - here's the guide. Obviously, it contains SPOILERS.

(Click on the screenshots to enlarge them!)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Before school starts:

  • Withdraw $9.00 from your piggybank - you will need to get Buggs to steal from you and buy items with what he leaves you with.

Playground:

  • As soon as you enter, Buggs will steal money from you - agree to let him have half then report him to Ms. Applegate - who will then fill you in on her plot to expel/kill all of the students she doesn't like.

  • Go back to Buggs and start a fight with him. Just before he's about to beat you to death, call for Ms. Applegate's help and he will be sent to the Principal's office.

  • Talk to Monty and buy the voice recorder from him for $2.50.

  • Now we need to get Cindy in trouble. Talk to her and initially agree to be her boyfriend - when she asks you to prove her love, keep asking why and refusing until the option to insult her comes up. After this, do not apologise to her, instead continue to provoke her until she cries RAPE!

Morning time:

  • In the Principal's office, deny you raped Cindy and tell him you recorded the whole incident with your voice recorder. You will be let off the hook and Cindy will get expelled.

  • Back in the classroom, talk to Ms. Applegate, who will reveal her plot to get Jerome expelled. However, he won't talk to you until you prove to him that you're cool. Talk to Monty and buy a yo-yo ($1.00).

  • Give the yo-yo to Jerome and agree to his plan to retrieve his laser pointer. Instead of doing as he asks, however - speak to Ms. Applegate and show her the stolen hall pass.

  • Now you are tasked with befriending Nugget. Simply speak to him and ask if he wants to be friends. He does - but only if you eat a suspicious chicken nugget. Do as he asks and eat it.

Lunch:

  • As it turns out, the suspicious chicken nugget was in fact filled with poison. So in order to get the antidote, you must get revenge on Buggs, Nugget's bully. He will give you another poisoned chicken nugget and ask you to feed it to Buggs.

  • There are serveral ways in order to convince Buggs to eat the poisoned nugget - you can bribe him with cash or tell him that either Cindy or Jerome would think he was a sissy if he didn't. Saying Monty, Nugget or Lily won't convince him.

  • So now we have killed Buggs, Nugget will give you the antidote to his poison. Now we need to get rid of Monty. Speak to him, but don't buy or sell anything - just take note that he insults the Janitor's spelling.

  • Go and tell the Janitor what Monty thinks of his spelling and Monty will quickly feel the wrath of Mr. Sweepy. Monty has now been dealt with and the Janitor will give you Monty's glasses.

  • Now we have to deal with Lily. After you used your first apple, you may have noticed her sneaking out into the hallway. Speak to the Lunch Lady and ask if you can use the bathroom. In order to for her to let you leave, you can either pay her $2.00, give her the magnifying glass from Lily's cubby (during Morning Time, if you tell Ms. Applegate that Jerome doesn't think you're cool, she allows you to steal items from the cubbies) or the easiest and most straightforward option, you can give her Monty's glasses.

  • You will find Lily outside the Principal's office eavesdropping. Knock on his door and tattle on her - and Lily will be swiftly dealt with.

Recess:

  • Speak to Ms. Applegate, who will reward you with a gold star for each of the students you have dispatched so far. There is only Nugget left, so speak to him and enter the Nugget Cave.

  • Inside the Nugget Cave, take the corpse of Cindy's dog Biscuit. There is also a Monstermon card here, if you have enough spare apples to take it. (You don't often get access to the Nugget Cave, so this is a good opportunity to grab this one.)

  • Return to the surface - you now have two choices; you can show the dead dog to Ms. Applegate now or show it during Show & Tell - either option results in Nugget being expelled.

Ms. Applegate's storyline complete!

Gamer's Wardrobe: Custom-Made Virtue's Last Reward T-Shirt

This post potentially contains SPOILERS for the 3DS/PS Vita game Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

Virtue's Last reward is probably the best visual novel game I've ever played, it's amazing. If you have even the slightest interest in visual novels, murder mysteries, Japanese storylines/characters or escape-the-room puzzles - you MUST play it.

Anyway, for those of you who've actually played the game, remember this graffiti?
MEMENTO MORI, IF THE NINETH LION ATE THE SUN.

I love anagrams, but I never managed to solve this one - the answer of course was a massive plot twist reveal - and the addition of the extra "E" in ninth really messed with my head every time I saw it. :)

Anyway, I got a plain black Fruit of the Loom T-Shirt and some red Dylon fabric paint - gave them to Ash, found her the screenshot - she went away and came back with this:

She's managed to replicate the typeface almost bloody IDENTICALLY. :)

I've not worn this shirt outside yet, but I don't really look forward to explaining its meaning to the uneducated masses who haven't played this amazing gem of a game.

"Yes, I know there's an extra "E" in ninth... I'm not going to explain it - go and play Virtue's Last Reward." :P
